As the operating principal of K5 Hospitality, Ayman Kamel is focused on creating a memorable guest experience. “I want to touch all of their senses,” explains Kamel. “I want them to say that they had the best time of their life.”  

 

An immigrant of Egyptian and Italian descent, Kamel lived with his family in New York for 20 years after they arrived in the United States in the 1990s. In January 2016, he moved his family to Atlanta so that he could be on the ground managing all aspects of 5Church Atlanta’s opening. “We love Atlanta because of its way of life. It has most of the things that New York has, but there is a lot more to offer in the way of weather and Southern hospitality.”

Kamel embraces the constant reinvention that happens in the restaurant business. “The restaurant industry evolves around the clock. There’s got to be an idea tomorrow that makes today’s idea old news. And that’s what I love about it.”

Prior to K5 Hospitality, Kamel was the executive general manager of the international entertainment group Big Bowl LLC, a firm focused on growth strategies, business improvement and systems optimization within the hospitality and retail industries. He still provides his expertise as a consultant with this group.

 

Kamel currently lives in Midtown Atlanta with his wife and two children. In his spare time, he enjoys watching soccer games, following politics and reading up on restaurant business news. Kamel is also active as an advisor and board member for several hospitality companies.
